Hamburger Summer Sausage


Mix contents of package with 5 pounds hamburger (not lean).  Mix well, cover & refrigerate.  Mix once a day for 3 days.  The 4th day, form into 5 rolls – 2 inches across.  Put on rack of broiler pan.  Bake at 175 degrees for 8 hours. 

1.  After it is done baking for 8 hours, eat one with hot buttered noodles.

2.  Slice on sandwiches with cheese, lettuce and tomato.

3.  Serve sliced with cheese and crackers.

4. Stores really well in the freezer after baking until ready to use.

5. Cube sausage and put in a pasta salad.


8 oz spaghetti or linguine
1/2 head broccoli
2 carrots – julienne cut
1 large tomato – chopped
2 Tablespoon fresh basil (1/2 teaspoon dried)
2 Tablespoon fresh parsley
8 ounces Mozzarella cheese – cubed
1/4 cup Parmesan cheese
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1/2 cup herbal vinegar
3 Tablespoon Mix
1 cup Hamburger Summer Sausage, cubed

Cook pasta using box instructions.  Cook broccoli and carrots to crispy done.  In a large bowl, combine broccoli, carrots, tomatoes and chopped fresh herbs.  In a separate container mix dry Italian Dressing Mix, vinegar and oil.  Pour into large bowl.  Put in both cheeses and pasta.  Toss and chill well.  Summer sausage can also be added.
